A new promotional poster for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hit the Internet on October 1. Only a few days prior, a cheery poster featuring the 13 dwarf company set to travel alongside Bilbo Baggins in the first of Jackson’s recently announced three-part series appeared on the web. However, to the surprise and excitement of Hobbit fans everywhere, the latest artwork is much darker and most notably reveals a new character: Bolg the Orc chieftain and ruling power of the Misty Mountains. Surrounded by various characters taking on serious battle poses, this new poster gives us a taste of the thrilling battle we can expect in Jackson’s adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s 1937 classic fantasy novel. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens in theaters December 14, 2012. ~Brandon Bastaldo
