‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ running time revealed
While more details and pictures for the upcoming The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hit the web everyday, Tolkien fans are sure to be rejoicing about the latest tid-bit of info. In an interview with Empire magazine, director Peter Jackson revealed that the running time of his upcoming Lord of the Rings prequel “is about 2 hours and 40 minutes at the moment.” This might sound quite lengthy, but compared to Jackson’s other films based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic fantasy tale, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is actually “going to be officially our shortest Middle-earth yet.” The director’s mention that the film has a 160-minute running time “at the moment” accounts for the fact that the movie is still needs final credits and special effects.
